Minutes and actions items
Peole present at the meeting: Andres, Matti, Nikita, Hubbert
- Follow up with ETAP and OSB about needs for MDC (new joint coordination by EIB-OSB div 10?)
- No news
- Participate in ESCAPE/WLCG Data Challenge in February - meeting with ESCAPE DIOS WG on Friday, December 5th at 16:00 CET
- Lia and Nikita attended the meeting. Nothing special to report.
- How are we supposed to participate in the Data Challenge?
- Join Rucio group of interest on hierarchical file structure.
- Nikita informed Martin of our interest to participate.
- We are now waiting for Martin to send us an invitation for a meeting once the group is formed.
- 2nd OSCARS Annual General Meeting, 11-12 March, 2026 - Seville, Spain: https://indico.in2p3.fr/event/37069/overview
- Nikita will not be able to go. Someone else wishes and is available to go?
- WP3 multi-RI metadata queries: Discuss with Paul for HSF cond DB, and with Valentin for Rucio metadata
- Nikita asked Valetin about the possibility of doing metadata filtering in CVMFS. Valetin said there is such a possibility, but didn't explain how.
- Nikita installed a Rucio server in a CERn/ machine and configured an RSE (one or two?).
- Next step is to install CVMFS server on another CERN machine.
- Matti looked at the Rucio client code and it seems Rucio v38 allows metadata filtering with inequalities (what we would need for time ranges). It should also support a logical OR of values for a given variable.
- Matti suggests we upgrade our Rucio servers to version 38 (or 39.1 which will be the Rucio with multi-RI). Matti will make sure if it is really needed.
- Not sure if it would be usefull to start looking at this in Rucio v35 or v32 that we have now in CE and ET respectively.
- Update ET Rucio server to version 35.
- Lia has this in her to-do list.
- In light of Matti's suggestion to go to v38 or v39.1, we might want to wait until January.
- Andres investigated the usage of oidc-agent.
- Documentation added here.
- Documentation is for our own consumption. it contains instructions on how to use an Indigo-IAM public client for oidc-agent created by Andres. It also mentions how the user can dynamically create a confidential client. So there are these two options, which Andres would like to understand pros and cons of each. WLCG recommends that users create their own client dynamically, but leaves open the possibility of a public client if Indigo-IAM doesn't support dynamic creation of a client.
- Plan to follow up with Michel Jouvin for his opinion/advice.
- Matti's multi-RI PR to Rucio.
- Martin said that he didn't have time to include it in Rucio v39 and that he plans to include it in Rucio v39.1 at the beginning of January.
- Andres not able to upload to TORINO_CE RSE.
- GitLab issue here. Error is permission denied. Andres able to upload to TORINO RSE.
- Andres can now upload to LOUVAIN_CE RSE after Nikita updated the RSE's xrootd endpoint in CE Rucio (it was using old endpoint from stashcache installation, while Louvain origin is now using Pelican).
