Location
Malta is an archipelago in the central Mediterranean between Sicily and the North African coast. It's a nation known for historic sites related to a succession of rulers including the Romans, Moors, Knights of Saint John, French and British. It has numerous fortresses, megalithic temples and the Ħal Saflieni Hypogeum, a subterranean complex of halls and burial chambers dating to circa 4000 B.C.
Venue
The University of Malta, Valletta Campus is housed in the Old University Building and dates back to the founding of the Collegium Melitense in 1592. This Campus serves as a prestigious setting for the hosting of international conferences, seminars, short courses and summer schools.

Travel to Malta
Getting to Malta is easy. There is only one airport with extensive connections within European countries serviced by major air-lines and low-cost options. Connectivity of flights is also very frequent, with options to travel from across all of Europe.
Travel to University of Malta, Valletta Campus
BUS
It is recommended to use the bus to get to Valletta. This is quite straight forward as most buses go to Valetta since this is the main terminal on the island. For an exact planned journey, visit Malta Public Transport to plan your journey.
A bus ticket costs eu1.50 and is valid for a single trip. Purchase of a ticket can be done via cash in euros on the bus. No credit card is accepted
TAXI
There will be a number of white taxis and "uber" style taxi services. Some options:

Climate and Clothing
Weather in Malta in March is usually pleasant with sunny spells and possibility of light rain. Temperatures may be as high as 20 degrees celsius on a sunny day. Umbrellas and light jackets are still recommended as a precaution.

Restaurants in Malta offer a wide choice of cuisine ranging from the local to Continental, Indian, Mexican, Chinese. Maltese food is heavily influenced by the Italian and Italian restaurants abound on the islands.
Dinner can cost from EUR 14 to EUR 45 per head depending on the category of restaurant. Snack bars and cafes are cheaper.
Health
Delegates should ensure that they are covered by adequate Medical Insurance. Healthcare in Malta is of a high level conforming to European standards. Mater Dei Hospital is the state hospital. There are also private hospitals.
Language
Malta has two Official Languages: Maltese and English. English is widely spoken in Malta and will be the language of the Conference.
