HOW TO GET TO THE VENUE
Rome has a vast public transport network and it is fairly easy to get around the city. In addition to buses and trams, there are also three metro lines (A, B and C). You can check all the Rome’s public transport maps on this website.
As of today, no metro line runs through the very centre of Rome (an extension of line C is currently under construction). However, metro can still be used to get near the city centre.
From Termini Station
Termini Station is Rome’s main railway station and major public transport hub. Two Rome Metro lines (A and B) intersect at Termini metro station, and a major bus station is located at Piazza dei Cinquecento, the square in front of the station.
There’s a few ways get to conference venue from Termini.
- By metro
• line A: to get to the venue, take the train going in the direction Battistini. Get off at the stop Barberini. From there, you can either take the bus 80 in the direction Piazza Venezia and get off at the stop Plebiscito (map) or take a 15 minute walk (around 1,2km).
• line B: to get to the venue, take the train going in the direction Laurentina. Get off at the stop Colosseo. From there, you can either take the bus 51 or 85 and get off at the stop Corso/Ss. Apostoli (map), 87 and get off at the stop Plebiscito, or take a 15 minute walk (around 1,2km). - By bus
• lines 40 and 64: both go in the direction of the Vatican City (line 40 – direction Borgo Sant’Angelo, line 64 – direction P.za Stazione San Pietro). If you take one of these buses, get off at the stop Plebiscito (map).
• lines H or 170: line H in the direction Dei Capasso, line 170 in the direction Agricoltura. If you take one of these buses, get off at the stop Quattro Novembre/S. Apostoli (map) and take a short 3 minute walk.
From other places
You can reach the conference venue taking any buses going in the directions: Piazza Venezia, Via Plebiscito, Via del Corso.
TICKETS AND PASSES
The best option is to purchase your tickets before you board any public transport in Rome. Tickets include all means of transportation (metro, buses and trams) and they can be purchased from tobacconists, bars, or vending machines at Metro stations and major bus stops.
If you were not able to purchase your ticket before boarding, you can use the contactless payment system (Tap&Go). However, in case the machine does not work, it is best to buy the ticket beforehand – there is no ticket machines in the vehicles.
