Description
The Italian PNRR project ETIC (ET Infrastructure Consortium) funded the creation of two laboratories for computing R&D: BETIF/DIFAET hosted by INFN-Bologna and the University of Bologna, and CTLab4ET hosted by INFN-Torino. The two laboratories operate complementary R&D Clusters: the first is equipped with FPGAs and GPUs, the second with low-latency network interconnections and heterogeneous GPU architectures, with capacity to include upgrades and expansions.
Now the two laboratories are planning to converge into a single distributed R&D and Technology Tracking platform, the Bologna-Torino eXtended infrastructure (BOTOx), to provide the ET Computing Community with a comprehensive tool for architecture evaluation, code porting and benchmarking, and general computing technology R&D.
