Description
The Einstein Telescope has begun to transition from ‘concept’ to ‘project’ – meaning the tricky work of integrating the many essential technologies, currently still in R&D, into one coherent detector design. Over the last two years, intensive efforts have resulted in new optical layouts, informed by basic optical requirements towards the sensitivity and controllability of each interferometer, but also by constraints from the wider subsystems of ET (e.g. suspensions, cryogenics and vacuum), and mechanical and civil engineering needs for the underground facility.
In this poster, we display the current optical layouts (10km Triangle and 15km L) proposed for the Einstein Telescope, as developed during the 2025 ETO Detector Design Task Force.
