Description
The characterization of the sites candidate to host ET pass through the evaluation of the local noise source (both natural and anthropogenic). The time analysis of the RMS quantity, computed over a specific frequency range, can be used to evaluate the short-term non-stationarities and the noise level at the site as a function of time. Moreover, consecutive periods of low noise level, once translated into noise sensitivity, can be interpreted as a sort of duty cycle of the future interferometer.
