Thiessen Wineries, Maastricht, Netherlands

Thiessen Wineries, Maastricht, Grote Gracht 18, 6211SW, Maastricht, The Netherlands. https://thiessen.nl/ Apart from a centuries-old wine shop where you can buy world-famous wines, Thiessen is one of Maastricht's finest event venues for groups of max 50 people. The beautiful city building –located in Maastricht’s center– with its historic atmosphere and variety of spaces, is an ideal place for both the plenary parts of our workshop (max 50 attendants) and the informal discussions during the breaks. Lunch will be served in the wine cellars where also the workshop dinner on Tuesday evening will take place.

Description

The 1st Site Preparation Board (SPB) Workshop was from 8-11 November 2021, Nuoro, Sardina (IT). The sequel will take place from23-26 January 2023, Maastricht (NL). This will be the occasion to discuss and get updates on the various activities taking place at the sites aspiring to possibly host the future Einstein Telescope (Sardegna in Italy, EMR partially in Belgium, Germany & The Netherlands and possibly Lausitz in Germany). In particular (hydro)geology aspects, noise environment, legal/permitting affairs, bidbook organization, schedules, excavation costs, local funding and future plans, etc. will be discussed. Apart from plenary presentations, lots of time will be reserved for discussions.

The venue of the workshop is Thiessen Wineries, Maastricht, Grote Gracht 18, 6211SW, Maastricht, The Netherlands. See: https://thiessen.nl/. A maximum of 50 participants can be hosted in person. A video (Zoom) link will be provided to allow remote attendance.

Registration is required for both in person (fee: €200, now closed) and online (no fee, open till end of workshop) participation.
